Daffie Days is Bulldog Pottery's spring kiln opening, welcoming the beginning, and celebrating the flowers of spring. We will feature a variety of elegant vases and an array of our studio art pottery. “AKAR Design Gallery Invitational Yunomi Show”

Bruce Gholson and Samantha Henneke have been invited, along with 180 nationwide potters, to show 5 Yunomi each for the 2013 cup show. This show is an amazing plethora of casual drinking vessels – called Yunomi.  (Yunomi are cups that are taller than they are wide.)
The cups on the online show sell quickly. Interested persons should register early, before the show opening time. Details can be found on the AKAR Gallery website http://www.akardesign.com/  AKAR is a premier gallery located in Iowa City, Iowa.

“Celebration of Spring Seagrove Kiln Openings”

We are pleased to participate in the Seagrove Potters Celebration of Spring Kiln Opening.  Hours will vary from shop to shop and a few are not open on Sunday. The kiln openings take place at individual pottery shops. Come join us for a day or two days with our honored Guest Clay Cousins, David MacDonald and Jack Troy, hosted by Bruce Gholson and Samantha Henneke along with Michael Kline.

This is our celebration for both potters and people who love the arts.

Bruce and Michael will discuss how they became potters while they give a throwing demonstration together on Saturday & Sunday. On Saturday, Chronis Pou Vasiliou, playing his bouzouki will fill the air with his enchanting Greek music throughout the day. Tasty treats will be served on Saturday, and a Potter's Potluck on Sunday beginning at noon.  Everyone is invited to join the potter’s potluck on Sunday at noon and hear Jack Troy’s pottery life through poetry.  Come and join these potters and “all things about clay,” for a day or the weekend--stay at one of the two local B&B’s, Seagrove Stoneware Inn or Duck Smith House B&B.

“Ninth Annual Potters Market Invitational”

We have been invited to the Ninth Annual Potters Market Invitational at the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte, NC. The Delhom Service League has invited 40 North Carolina potters to participate in this intimate selling event. The potters will have their work displayed under a large, spacious tent with plenty of room for potter enthusiasts to move around and view the ceramics. "The Delhom League sponsors the annual Potters Market Invitational as a fund raiser for the Mint Museum of Art ceramics collection. By guaranteeing that buyers can find high quality wares at the Potters Market Invitational the Delhom League seeks to encourage popular support of North Carolina pottery. Monies raised will be dedicated to acquisitions and projects that further the study and appreciation of historical pottery and porcelain at the Mint Museum of Art." On Friday evening the Celebration's Gala kicks off the weekend with food and live music, with a special Seagrove collaborative pottery auction; and a first opportunity to purchase. The Gala ticket also includes admission for Saturday and Sunday.) Come and sip a favorite beverage and enjoy heavy hors d' oevres while talking with the potters. Group tours are welcome.

The Celebration of Seagrove Potters is a gathering of 63 remarkable Seagrove clay artists united in showcasing the traditional and contemporary pottery of the historic Seagrove community.  The pottery-exclusive show takes place under one roof inside the Historic Luck's Cannery.
